Art is an adventure that never ends!
I am a Penn State Alumni and in college I primarily painted abstract and surreal huge paintings because I loved to paint the unknown and made up worlds rather than something I can just take a picture of. This reflects in my teaching because I love when all students projects look different, and not cookie cutter step-by-step drawings. I encourage students to explore their imagination, think outside the box, and try different art mediums and styles! I am very flexible, adaptable and eager to try new things.
After college I moved to Colorado for 3 years and taught middle school ceramics at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy and worked on Beaver Creek Mountain as a snowboard instructor. I also worked at an art studio where I learned how to master the pottery wheel and run a kiln. For 3 years I was able to do the two things I love to do everyday; snowboard and art! I moved back to Pennsylvania and currently work at Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School where I teach grades 2-4. PPACS is an Apple school so I incorporate technology into my lessons whenever I can!
In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, playing soccer, hiking, camping, kayaking, crocheting, music, painting and traveling. I love adventure, meeting new people, and living my life to the fullest.
